Save as PDF

Save as PDF is one of the most famous options (mainly because it is available for both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox). However, there are some that work better. Specifically, it allows us to save the page in PDF, because that is its main function, but we cannot do anything else. And precisely that is his ballast. In addition, the format in which you save the websites is in presentation size (like a PowerPoint), so instead of being saved vertically it is saved vertically.

We could say that it is an advantage, because there is more information in width, but there are many page breaks. Finally, it does not directly take out what is seen on the screen, but it takes out what a robot would see. That is, if we want to save Facebook in PDF, for example, it would not save our timeline, but the Facebook homepage itself, as the robot does not have access to cookies.

Web2PDF (Google Chrome only)

Web2PDF uses its web service to switch from HTML to PDF. It is also a bit rudimentary, but it fulfills its mission in Google Chrome (since in Mozilla Firefox it has stopped working since December 2016, in version 50.X specifically). The results in PDF are shown vertically, and in this case the actual web content is not shown either, because when using the web service, you do not have access to cookies. This means that if we want to run it offline, we simply cannot.

Adobe Acrobat Reader (Google Chrome only)

Adobe Acrobat is the extension that could be valued best. There was a controversy at the time regarding this extension, because it was installed in an "illegal" way in the vast majority of devices. It not only shows the web as it is but also does it vertically (less page breaks). Finally, apart from creating PDF’s, it allows you to add the web to a PDF that we have already created (at the end of the PDF there is always no option to choose). Obviously it has its drawbacks: it only works on Windows (neither on macOS nor on Linux). As if that weren't enough, we also need to have Adobe Acrobat DC or Adobe Acrobat XI installed. If we don't have it, the gray icon will simply come out, so we can't use it. To download a website we will have to right click on it and choose Adobe Acrobat in the context menu.

WebToPDF (Mozilla Firefox only)

The best without a doubt for Firefox: it shows the information even with the session open (that is, with everything that comes out on the screen) and does it as if it were on a single PDF page (without page break). As a bonus, we can not only download the PDF, but also in image format, send the PDF by mail or only convert to PDF what we want.
